i attempted the first book in the series twice. on the 2nd time i got really into it and found it profound. this book, i was not able to get into. i gave up on 6 of 14 CDs. it bored me out of my mine. i kept waiting for the story to pick up. when there was no clear conflict set up by the middle, i decided i couldn't listen to it anymore; no need to struggle through another 8 CDs.

This book I took on holiday to Tunisia with me. I read it in one day, while I was sunbathing by the pool. I actually read it in less than a day, I finished one book, which I knew I was going to finish, so I picked up this book and read it and it was finished in time for us to go and have a drink in the bar before we got ready for our dinner. I did enjoy it, it made me feel a bit sad but it gave me a giggle too. It is a really good idea for a story, quite clever, and I did actually pick up some advice from it also.

Read a total of 28 pages and couldn't get into this book.

Reencuentro con la novela de Javier Cercas. Aunque más bien, debería decir encontronazo. No tengo muy claro todavía qué pretendía hacer con esta novela... Espesa, inconexa, deslabazada. Insulsa.

Another amazing book!!!!!!!

So this book was okay. I'm sure I will read the others just because I'm interested in how it turns out. It was written by a mother and daughter so that is why I'm so confused. They use the 'f' word way too many times not to mention add a blow job scene and talk about diarrhea through the whole book. What's the deal? I mean all of those things are unnecessary especially with a mother/daughter team. I don't get it. Their take on vampires is interesting. Everyone in the world knows about them and many famous movie stars and singers are "vampires" and they all worship a Goddess that started it all. Weird...
