It has a nice twist at the end. Beautiful descriptive writing, lovely plot and it gave me a few things to think about but I'd already gone over most of them before so there wasn't much excitement as going over something for the first time. Nothing negative to say about it only it didn't hit a particularly strong cord with me. Some books are like that, they do almost everything right and someone still finds a reason not to love them.

'Meh' is probably the best way to describe my reaction. The style of writing was original, but the plot wasn't.

Can't remember many of the details, but this book was fantastic. It's about a Chinese boy living in Japan when war breaks out. He is pretty much left alone to fend for himself socially, developing relationships with locals who are supposedly the enemy. Very interesting insight into a leprosy epidemic adds flavor to the story.

An easy pop-psychology read. The hypothesis seems more anecdotal in nature than research-based. A nice book for the airplane.
