Derin. Kelimenin tam anlamıyla her noktalama işaretini okumanızı sağlar. Dictee'nin kendine özgü bir dili var. Bu tarihte pek çok farklı konu ortaya çıkıyor, biyografik, politik, şiirsel, dil aşılanmış kitap. Tek bir şeyle ilgili değil. Bazılarının sinir bozucu alanlar bulabileceği yerlerde, bunun daha çekici unsurlar olduğunu düşünüyorum.

So I ended up really enjoying this book. I will not lie, at the beginning I was thinking it was going to be a 2 star, maybe even another 1! But in the end it redeemed itself big time, so I was very happy I read it. The reason I was not enjoying the book so much at the beginning is because it was very depressing and sad story. It is about a woman who is kidnapped at 19 and then imprisoned for 8 years in a man's 11x11 garden shed. She end's up having a son while imprisoned; and therefore the only world her son knows is inside those 11x11 walls. The story is told from this 5 year old boy's perspective and he is so sweet, and very smart. But I was still not enjoying the book because their situation was so sad. Thankfully ****SPOILER ALERT**** they escape about half way through the book and then the rest of it is mostly about Jack (the 5 year old) learning about life in the "outside". He is so sweet and innocent, and honestly has a lot of really great insights. The second half definitely redeemed the first so I was very happy with this book. :)

So good, I got more of his books to read! I just wish I had read this years ago! Lots of life lessons I am learning ... Thank you!

I read this because a friend really enjoyed it. It was good, but it didn't wow me like it has some people. It is a good read to get a feel for the culture in the early sixties. About 2/3 way through the book, I very nearly stopped reading which I RARELY do with a book. But I plowed through the hard part (not much action and I thought sure something really bad was going to happen) the ending is satisfying.
