Kafka hakkında bir şey, ..
This was a fun and sweet story with a cute little mystery thrown in.
This would be a good novel to bring on vacation. Da Vinci Code-esque with all of the chapter-ending cliffhangers, and the plot is not as tight as it could be. However, it was a quick, entertaining read.
When I discovered this book at Ruth's house, I read the first ten pages and am now hooked. I shall read. Oh, and one would do well to take Ruth's book recommendations, except about Crime and Punishment!!
http://nwhyte.livejournal.com/2354547.html[return][return]It's just as well that I read Orwell's Homage to Catalonia a few months back, or I would have felt a bit unmoored in this Eighth Doctor story of the Spanish Civil War. There is a time-changing entity plot, but I found myself instead appreciating Halliday's recreation of the awfulness of the 1930s, with one Eric Blair wandering in and out of the story too. The time-twisting bit ties into the wider Sabbath narrative which has so far failed to really interest me, but I liked the rest.
Eye opener to life in foreign countries and how evil destroys the lives of innocent children. It's amazing what a bond is created to his homeland and his people despite all that happened.
