typical fast easy read, semi-engaging thriller novel. I've read better Koontz books, but I did like that this had a somewhat happy ending. And I love animals, so the description of the 'main characters', being primate like beautiful innocent creatures was a good hook for me. the romance between the veterinarian and the carpenter was sweet, although totally expected.
