Yes, this is billed as a young adult novel, but I was so thoroughly transported when I read this book, that I'd recommend it to any of my friends. It is NOT "Twilight"--much more literary, interesting, and engaging.

Did you know "lowboy" was the original name for "oboe?" I learned so much from this book.

I read this book because Helen told me I would learn all I needed to know about life--I think she was right :)

Roth is not for the faint of heart~ he crafts a story that is dead-on-true about human nature and emotion, creating characters that stay with you. I found the most interesting thing to be how he addressed basic human nature and then added stresses that could occur in any person, yet also provides a window into select points-of view. Not an easy task, but one I feel is worth the read.

Unbelievable. The wedding party with the tank and the photographer? Gives me chills just thinking about it..
