A stark reminder about why abortion needs to remain legal and accesible for women in this country. Ernaux writes with brutal truth about her experiences as a young student in France-1960's-who goes through a desperate search to end her pregnancy. This borders on meta-fiction, a style that I enjoy.

Felt like it took itself a bit too seriously. Frampton created a whole new world in Fignation - and we really only saw glimpses of it. I would have liked to have seen more.
My pick for the best Jane Austen novel.
This book is great! I read it years ago in English and need to re-read it in Spanish. It is the story of a group of sisters in the Dominican Republic. I'd recommend it to anyone, but especially to those interested in Latin America, politics, or human rights.
