I loved this book. I had to read it as part of the curriculum for an A-Level English lit course I was undertaking. I got so carried away with the story however that I couldn't bear to dissect and analyse it. The pain and horror of war, how it affects us, our relationships, the sacrifices made by ordinary people in extra-ordinary circumstances. I cried. I laughed. I cried again. I walked away after reading this book feeling good about my life and realising how lucky I am. I made a promise to myself to re-read it whenever I started to get too involved in my own problems and couldn't see the wood for the trees.

My favorite historical novel.

--Actual Rating 3.5 Skulls This wasn't my favorite book of the series, but it did take the underlying thread of the series and tie things up nicely while giving closure to our favorite couple and friends. I wish there could have been a little bit more action and intrigue - the things that made me love the series in the first place - but part of me understands why there wasn't. -Full review to come

I cannot wait for Stephenie Myers to publish the entire book. I will be one of the first to buyit.
