I always tried to avoid studying immunology. Now that I'm taking PhD in Medicine, I cannot runaway from it anymore. *sigh* This book helps a lot though..
BFG has everything to keep an overactive child's mind busy: a spunky heroine with a sad life, a lovable and bumbly friendly giant, the pair fearlessly saving the world's children from being gobbled by the "bad" giants, AND lots made up words that are fun for everyone. In other words, I was completely gobsmacked by this book.
I actually finished this book two days ago, but i've been having a rough time of it in regard to pets this week. So since i'm up early this morning(well not so early now, but i've been up) since i could sleep that well last night due to Rachel bunny's passing i decided to go ahead and write the review. At least the best one i could right now. Admittedly, the only reason i picked up this book at the library was because of the movie. I probably would have never done so without it. Something rather sad to think about since this book is rather good. My brain is bejumbled right now, but it was a really interesting take on the life of the black help in the sixities. I particularly liked Sketter and Abiliene. How sad that for such a good book i don't really have much to say on it. Just read it. It's good. There. That sums it up pretty well.
Enjoyed the movie - should probably try the book.
